Preclinical practical work of Endodontics takes place during the seventh semester and last through 15 hours of seminars and 45 hours of practical work (total of 60 hours).
Purpose of the seminars is to prepare the students of the VII semester for successful performing of practical tasks during the preclinical practical work of Endodontics. Therefore seminars encompass chapters: morphology of endodontic space, instruments for endodontics, diagnosis in endodontics, access preparation, saliva isolated working field, techniques for root canal cleaning and shaping, medication and root canal filling materials, obturation techniques, endodontic treatment failure and retreatment of failure.
Purpose of the preclinical practical work is to enable the students for work with patient. Students perform practical access preparation, cleaning and shaping, radiograph control and root canal filling of one rooted and multi-rooted tooth.
Endodontics clinical practical worktakes place during the VIII semester and last through 15 weeks of teaching in the form of 35 hours of clinical practical work.
Endodontics clinical practical work takes place during the IX semester and last through 15 weeks of teaching in the form of 30 hours of clinical practical work.
Endodontics clinical practical worktakes place during the X semester and last through 15 weeks of teaching in the form of 30 hours of clinical practical work.
Endodontics clinical practical worktakes place during the XI semester and last through 15 weeks of teaching in the form of 60 hours of clinical practical work (TURNUS).
Endodontics clinical practical work takes place during the XII semester and last through 15 weeks of teaching in the form of 60 hours of clinical practical work (TURNUS).
Purpose of the clinical practical work is to enable the students for adequate treatment of patients. Student should know how to: take anamnesis.
Students practice endodontic procedure on morphologically less difficult multi-rooted teeth. They must perform vital extirpation and filling of one-rooted tooth, treatment of pulpits, necrosis and/or gangrene of one rooted tooth. Students become familiar with emergency endodontic interventions. During the clinical practical work at turnus each student continues to follow the patient they treat during the turnus.
